We work from offices in Jerusalem and Petah Tikva for clients in Israel and abroad: law firms that need Israeli evidence in English, companies entering the Israeli market, new immigrants filing foreign documents with Israeli authorities, and researchers who need Hebrew interviews transcribed.
- Translating and transcribing in Israel since 2012, as part of the GoldWork group founded in 1999
- Every translator passes a personal interview and a translation test in their own field
- English-to-Hebrew work goes to native Hebrew speakers; Hebrew-to-English to native English speakers
- Court transcripts are verbatim, double-checked and include a signed transcriber's affidavit
- Clear pricing unit: 250 words in the target language, quoted before work starts
Who we work with
- Foreign law firms and legal teams – Israeli contracts, court decisions, affidavits and recorded evidence that must be read, filed or relied on in English.
- Companies entering Israel – agreements, company documents, financial statements, technical manuals and marketing material that must work in Hebrew for Israeli partners, customers and regulators.
- Immigrants and families – birth, marriage and academic certificates issued abroad that Israeli authorities require in Hebrew, and Israeli documents needed in English for use overseas.
- Universities and researchers – Hebrew research interviews, lectures and focus groups transcribed and, where needed, translated into English.
English to Hebrew and Hebrew to English document translation
Our translators work in separate departments by subject. Legal work goes to translators with a legal background, most of them lawyers.
- Legal – contracts, judgments, affidavits, powers of attorney, wills and licences.
- Medical – medical records, patient leaflets, medical device documentation and research articles.
- Technical – operating manuals, specifications and engineering documents.
- Financial and commercial – financial statements, insurance documents and business correspondence.
- Certificates and official documents – birth, marriage and divorce certificates, diplomas and transcripts of grades.
Direction matters. A Hebrew-to-English translation is assigned to a native English speaker, and an English-to-Hebrew translation to a native Hebrew speaker, so the final text reads naturally to the people who will rely on it. Stamps, tables and footnotes on certificates are reproduced, and files can be delivered in Office, Adobe and other formats. All files are kept confidential before and after translation. More: English translation (in Hebrew).
Certified and notarized translation for Israeli authorities
"Certified translation" in Israel usually means a notarized translation: a notary confirms that the translation is faithful to the original. GoldWork is a translation company, not a notary. We produce the translation in a format a notary can approve, attach a signed translator's declaration, and guide you through the notary step.
| Type of confirmation | What it confirms |
|---|---|
| Notarial confirmation of translation accuracy | A notary fluent in both languages checks that the translation matches the original |
| Notarial confirmation of a translator's declaration | The translator declares accuracy before a notary, who verifies identity and declaration |
| Translation company declaration | A signed statement from the company, without a notary – accepted by some employers and private bodies |
Notary fees in Israel are a uniform tariff set by Ministry of Justice regulations and charged separately from the translation. To use a notarized document in a country that is party to the Hague Apostille Convention, an apostille is usually added. In Israel, apostilles are issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by registrars at magistrates' courts; which authority applies depends on the document. Always check with the receiving authority which confirmation it requires, and confirm current procedures on gov.il. This information is general and is not legal advice. More detail: notarized translation (in Hebrew).
Hebrew transcription and court transcripts
Our transcription team includes experienced court transcribers. We transcribe Hebrew calls, meetings, interviews, investigations and hearings, and can record hearings and arbitrations on site.
A transcript intended for an Israeli court includes:
- verbatim text, without "cleaning" that changes meaning;
- speaker identification, with uncertain attributions marked rather than guessed;
- timestamps and consistent marking of unclear passages;
- a double check against the recording before signing;
- a signed transcriber's affidavit confirming the transcript is faithful to the recording.
Transcripts are delivered as Word and PDF files. An expert opinion can be coordinated if the recording itself may be disputed. A Hebrew transcript can then be translated into English by our legal translation department. Transcription is priced per minute of recording. This information is general and is not legal advice. Details: court transcription (in Hebrew).

Pricing
Translation is priced per unit of 250 words in the target language. Our published range for Hebrew-to-English document translation is 75–100 ILS per unit, depending on the type of document: general texts at the lower end, legal, medical and technical texts at the upper end. A standard certificate is usually one or two units. Notary fees, where needed, are charged separately according to the official tariff. Transcription is priced per minute of recording. See our price page (in Hebrew).
Why human translators, not machine translation
Free machine translation lacks the accuracy legal, medical and official documents require, and cannot adapt a text to its purpose as a specialist can. Hebrew adds its own risks: it is written without most vowels, so one word can be read several ways. A translation submitted for notarial confirmation must also be made by a human translator who declares its accuracy; machine output cannot serve as the basis for that confirmation.
Frequently asked questions
How much does Hebrew to English translation cost?
Translation is priced per unit of 250 words in the target language. Our published range for Hebrew-to-English documents is 75–100 ILS per unit, depending on the subject: general texts cost less, legal, medical and technical texts more. A standard certificate is usually one or two units. Send the file on WhatsApp to +972-50-6500999 and you will receive an exact quote before work begins.
Can you provide a certified translation for use in Israel?
Yes, in the sense Israeli authorities usually mean it. GoldWork is a translation company, not a notary: we translate the document in a format a notary can approve and attach a signed translator's declaration. A notary then confirms the translation, and the notary's fee is set by Ministry of Justice regulations. Check with the receiving authority which confirmation it requires. This is general information, not legal advice.
Do I need an apostille on my translated document?
Only if the document will be used in another country that is party to the Hague Apostille Convention and the receiving authority asks for it. In Israel, apostilles are issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and by registrars at magistrates' courts, depending on the document. Sometimes both the original certificate and the notarized translation need one. Confirm the requirements with the receiving authority and on gov.il; this is general information, not legal advice.
Can you transcribe Hebrew recordings for a court case?
Yes. Our team includes experienced court transcribers. A court transcript is verbatim, identifies speakers, marks unclear passages with timestamps, is checked twice against the recording, and comes with a signed transcriber's affidavit. Transcripts are delivered in Word and PDF. If you also need the transcript in English, our legal translation department can translate it. Transcription is priced per minute of recording, quoted once we receive the file.
How do I send documents if I am outside Israel?
Send a clear scan, photo or recording on WhatsApp to +972-50-6500999, wherever you are. Tell us what the document is for, which authority or country will receive it, and when you need it. We reply with a quote and schedule, and deliver the translation digitally. If a notary must see the original, we will explain the options for your situation.
